The Internet has been the single greatest contribution to helping citizens understand and share information concerning their democracies.  It is now as important as the ballot box because information is critical to having a properly considered vote.

Ordinary citizens are busy and often overwhelmed by their daily responsibilities.  They work and care for their families.  One cannot watch television news for eight hours to obtain the history and direction of an issue from the vapid nightly newscasts.  Video clips and news articles that are exchanged today improve on the increasingly poor information available from traditional sources.
